(Collier County, FL – May 6, 2022) Keep Collier Beautiful and Senator Kathleen Passidomo are pleased to recognize the winners of the annual calendar art contest, organized in partnership with Collier County Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Department and Collier County Schools.
This year, the organization received more than 1,000 entries from Collier County students ranging from Kindergarten through High School. Volunteer judges selected the top 14 winning entries for the front cover, back cover, and each month of the year. Additionally, 12 runner-ups were recognized for their efforts. The winning pieces will be featured in KCB’s 2023 calendar.
Senator Kathleen Passidomo commended the students and their teachers, for their efforts to raise awareness for our environment. The front-cover winner was Valeria Avila, a Corkscrew Elementary School first-grader who was taught by Adele Agler. The back cover will feature an entry from Palmetto Ridge High School student, Catherine Rosales, who is a student of Kathryn Swartz. One winner and one runner up was selected per grade level.

In addition to being featured in the 2023 calendar, winners will receive a framed copy of their artwork, a certificate of appreciation, and a gift certificate to spend this summer.
KCB also holds regular cleanup events throughout the year. Upcoming activities include the Summer Beach and Park Cleanup on June 4, Fireworks Beach and Park Cleanup on July 5, and International Coastal Cleanup on September 17. Make sure to register for these events and bring family and friends!
